As a business, we understand that not everything we do is 100% right for our planet. That is why we have chosen to partner with the UK-based Climate Action Platform: One Tr1be in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint.
One Tr1be takes an alternative approach to tackle environmental issues. Instead of planting more trees like most environmental protection agencies, they opt to protect those that already exist. It was found that whilst planting a tree in 2021 costs around $1, it will only absorb 53.1 kilos of carbon by 2030. With that same $1, they can instead protect 400 square metres of rainforest and absorb 3,900 kilos of carbon in the same amount of time.
With this partnership in place, every purchase we receive translates to a donation from the Berry team to protect 100 square metres of rainforest. As of today, we have already protected 3,480 trees and the number keeps on growing!
